Photography Club

With BOSM 2025 in the wings, the BOSM English Press sat down with Arya Wadhwani, the BOSM Coordinator for the Photography Club (Photog), to ask about their plans for this year’s fest.

Arya explained that during the weeks leading up to the fest, Photog was involved in covering pre-BOSM events. Their goal was to capture as many players and moments as possible during the various team practices. He added that they would cover the different events during the fest as well, which combined with the previous work, would showcase the ‘spirit of BOSM.’ The photos taken during the fest would also be sent to the respective teams

He stated that they would also host a photobooth this year, where people could have their pictures taken and then printed on the spot on 6×4 glossy paper. He said that there was the possibility of another event called Mementos. This would involve providing a magazine of photos of a particular team to each of its players. Arya said that personally, he was most excited about the photobooth and the live panel—an encapsulation of the previous fest day using photo highlights stuck onto a chart paper.

According to him, the biggest problem that Photog faced this year was maintaining the standard of quality. Just like every other year, rain could also be a major issue for both the players and the cameras. Since the tents in Gym-G are not waterproof, Arya said that they would have to run all the way to their room near S9 to keep the equipment safe. Another issue they ran into was the lack of a sponsor, which forced them to reach out to a different vendor. He added that managing the members and occasionally assigning them to sports they disliked had also been challenging.

Regarding keeping the creative vision intact across members, Arya believed that each member brought something new to the table, and he trusted each of them to see it through. He noted that the CoSSAc had also been really helpful and supportive of his ideas so far.

On a parting note, Arya urged everyone to come and check out the photobooth, ‘for a nice experience’.
