The Oasis English Press recently sat down with the Coordinator of Gaming Club, Abhi Pruthi, to have a conversation about the club’s events in Oasis ’25.
Abhi explained that the Gaming Club hosted a Legacy gaming stall every Oasis, and was keeping it this year as well. In addition to that, they had conducted two Krafton-sponsored events last year: BGMI and Real Cricket Tournament, and were going to organise them this year as well. He added that there were two new gaming events being introduced by the club—a Pokemon Showdown tournament, a Clash Royale, and a Mini Malaysia tournament. According to Abhi, Pokemon Showdown was going to be like the Pokemon battles as seen in the anime.
The club also coordinated with the Department of Publication and Correspondence (PCr) to get posters and standees made, and the Department of Visual Media (DVM) to advertise their events. He also mentioned that the second year students of the club were running the events entirely on their own and that he trusted them in doing so. He added that good communication was a major factor for events to run smoothly. Abhi explained that his job as the Coordinator was to oversee the work needed to be done during the events hosted by the club and to ensure that they happened without any bumps along the way. According to him, being the Coordinator of Gaming Club had its ups and downs but he enjoyed the job.
He concluded by saying he wanted everyone attending the fest to know that the events conducted by the club this year were going to be exciting and lots of fun and invited gamers and non-gamers alike to come and participate.
