As Oasis ‘25 draws closer, the Oasis English Press (OEP) sat down with Vatsal Nagpal, the Coordinator of the Chemistry Association for a quick chat to understand their preparation for the fest. Vatsal started by stating that owing to his being an active member of the association, and his skill in design and videography—he had made his way to Oasis Coordinator.
With regard to their plans for the fest this year, he elaborated that they would conduct ‘High On Helium,’ a legacy event by the association. This year, however, with a few tweaks, they hope to make it more appealing to the attendees. When asked about incorporating this year’s theme into their event, he said that they planned on giving the ‘High on Helium’ banner a Japanese flair along with some paintings. He further mentioned that they were facing problems with their budgeting and inventory, and remarked that low footfall had been a concern. To address this, he said they would focus on digital publicity this time, along with word-of-mouth marketing.
He further stated that new recruits had been inducted, and that they would be involved in the majority of the ground work, decoration, and on-site handling of the event itself. Talking about preparations for Oasis, he said that they had been working closely with the Chemistry Department, to secure helium from external vendors and to finalise the logistics.
In conclusion, Vatsal urged everyone to attend the event and ‘make good memories’, since it uniquely blended scientific principles with light-hearted fun.
