Economics and Finance Association

The APOGEE English Press reached out to Venkat Subramanian, the Coordinator of the Economics and Finance Association (EFA), to find out more about their plans for APOGEE ’26.

Venkat revealed that EFA would be organising three flagship events during the fest: Bidwiser — a mock IPL auction featuring coaches and ‘legendary players’; Stock Market Simulator — a four-day trading competition in collaboration with StockGro; and InvestoQuest — an equity research challenge in collaboration with CFM that would begin in the days leading up to the fest, and conclude with an offline presentation from the selected team. He mentioned that for InvestoQuest, EFA had invited prestigious judges, with one of them being a part of Unicorn India Ventures, and another an analyst from an equity research company. He added that their team was excited as they had a much larger prize pool and participation as compared to previous years. Venkat shared that they had begun the work in mid-February and were ‘about 90% done’ during the time of the interview.

He explained that the preparatory work leading up to the fest mostly revolved around finalising previous strategies, rolling out forms, and signing MOUs. Venkat said that they had faced no major setbacks and the club’s work had been functioning smoothly thus far. He also added that they had hosted a few game nights within the club to combat monotony while working, and that the workforce also enjoyed themselves during the management of the events being conducted.

When asked about his experience as a Coordinator, Venkat described the experience as fulfilling and educational, despite having been hectic. In parting, Venkat urged the general BITSian not to limit themselves to food stalls and prof shows, but rather participate in the variety of events which were being held so that they could understand their interests better.
