With Oasis ’26 inching closer, the Oasis English Press sat down with Anmol Sharma, the Coordinator of Fashion club, to know more about the club’s workings for this year’s instalment of Oasis.
Anmol started off by explaining that the club mainly organised events such as rampwalks and photoshoots of models, alongside their flagship “neon-themed” events every year. However, he noted that many of these events had been discontinued due to the heavy pressure on the models as well as the hectic schedules of the club.
When asked about what the club had in plan for this year’s fest, Anmol replied that they would be organising a new event — ‘Laser Tag’. He elaborated by saying that the event would take place in VK lawns under neon and would involve shooting various humanoid figures; He encouraged the GBM to come with their friends and just enjoy the game.
Anmol mentioned that they got inspiration for their idea of ‘Laser Tag’ from the event Radioaktiv usually conducted during BOSM. He explained that the Fashion Club modified their idea to fit it better under their signature “neon-theme” by the usage of neon lights, inspired by similar events that are held across the globe.
Anmol remarked that unfortunately, this year the club would not be conducting its flagship Day 0 party. He specified that it was due to the hectic schedules of the members as well as constraints regarding budgeting and arrangement of production and DJ sets. He highlighted that the club was fighting to conduct their signature ramp walk —another major event of the fest, although its feasibility remained uncertain.
Anmol explained that their on-ground work had started two weeks prior to the fest’s commencement and mostly involved work related to the event such as procurement of guns, neon lights, obstacles and general decor.
When asked about the problem of budgeting, Anmol responded by saying that due to creative differences and lack of money, they would only be able to conduct ‘Laser Tag’. He expressed the need to alter the club’s normal functioning— which involved contacting distinct event planning committees, changing inventory among others, as they would be conducting a completely different event than before.
When asked about the internal organisation of the club, Anmol specified that there were around 60 active members in the club. Regarding how the workforce was divided, he mentioned that the ‘25 batch primarily handles the publicity and signings, whereas the ‘26 batch was in charge of the ticketing, tracking the number of participants as well as on-ground arrangements such as decoration.
Anmol highlighted that his Joint Coordinator, Kanishk Didwania, had been a crucial part of the club as he handled most of the on ground work. Being the Coordinator of the SUMT as well, Anmol emphasised that he was trying his best to give his all to the Fashion Club, despite his packed schedule. He revealed that it was the first ever club he joined during his campus life and that he loved being a part of it.
On a parting note, Anmol encouraged the GBM to attend the club’s event and create lasting memories of their time during Oasis.
