Swimming (Girls)

The girls’ swimming team captain, Jayati Aggarwal,  does not seem to be bucking under the mounting pressure of the ever-nearing BOSM, even after a day of intense practice sessions followed by classes. She actually seems invigorated rather than exhausted as she begins to speak about her team.

‘We are a team of ten girls, including one new recruit. But swimming is more about the individual swimmer than the team, although we do have vibrant team dynamics too.’

Her voice exudes pride as she mentions that the team includes a few state-level swimmers. Akanksha Agarwal, a skilled swimmer and a musician, elaborates with a wink, ‘I love swimming, so I enjoy it. Yes, academics often tend to take a backseat.’

The new recruit, Mridula, seems to be genuinely impressed by her teammates’ enthusiasm which contributed to the speedy cleaning of the pool, which was initially murky and teeming with insects attempting backstrokes.

Jayati is confident in her team, despite being wary of contenders like NIT Trichy, and believes they can bag the trophy this year too. The optimistic captain chooses to see the legacy as a source of inspiration rather than trepidation.

We wish her team luck as BOSM nears and wait eagerly to witness their performance!
