The Mime Club describes itself as a club that aims to present stories, sketches and satires to the BITSian audience. Their tasks include experimenting with new ideas and creating new ways to present stories. The club, as always, is planning a performance for the Oasis inauguration. This will be supplemented by a series of videos and sketches, parodying the various aspects of a normal BITSian life. Also, for the first time ever, they will be organizing an event titled ‘Pun Wars’, in which the best pun-dits on campus will face one other.
The club has been practicing since September. Despite the immense pressure to put on a good show for Oasis, the work environment is casual and supportive. They claim to have the most fun, creative and productive sessions on campus.
With just under a week for Oasis, final preparations for their performances have begun. Coordinator Raghav Sharma is extremely proud of the dedication shown by the juniors towards making a memorable performance.
Talking about his plans for inauguration, Raghav remarks, “As a coordinator I had a vision that this Inaug, we’d take storytelling to newer dimensions and I’m pleased to say, we’re definitely going in the right direction.”
