Oasis is just around the corner and the Oasis Hindi Press (OHP) is all set with their events for the year.

The club is hosting three events, namely: Wordwars, Cocktail and Bluffmaster. Wordwars is a pre-Oasis online Hindi quizzing event held in collaboration with the Department of Visual Media.  Cocktail, again a quizzing event, based on current affairs, will be held on the first day of Oasis. Bluffmaster, based on a TV show with the same name, will be held in collaboration with the Hindi Activities Society (HAS).

OHP have their own newsletter, titled Pravah, which covers all the important events during Oasis. “We are going to publish one Pre-Oasis issue in the next three or four days; and five issues from day 0 till day 4. However, the fest issues are going to have a different title which has not been decided on yet”, says Jahnavi Rohil, the coordinator of OHP.

The OHP official blog, which went live in September is also gaining wide popularity. The blog features creative articles based on the main attractions of the fest. “While the newsletter simply reports events happening around the campus during the fest, the blog allows the authors to be more creative and include their own opinions as well, and thus, has an edge over the newsletter in terms of popularity,” says Jahnavi.

Preparations for the fest went smoothly this time, except a minor time management problem due to the hectic semester schedule. With only small gaps between BOSM, Dussehra, Mid-semester exams and Diwali, the time available for Oasis preparations was not sufficient. Nevertheless, everything happened well within the deadlines, owing to the united efforts of the club members.

 “The theme is so interesting that everyone can relate to it. And we, as a club, are trying our best to relate our events with the theme”, said the coordinator when asked about her expectations from the fest. All in all, the stage for Oasis is set and we wait while the events of this Oasis slowly unfold before us.
