The Local Train, a rock band based in Delhi, will be performing in the main auditorium tonight at 7:30. The band was formed in 2008 by a group of college students from Chandigarh. Since then, they have come a long way, achieving commercial success and making a mark on the Hindi rock scene. They connect with their audience through their raw energetic music along with a blend of Hindi and Urdu lyrics.
They won Sennheiser Top50, a nation-wide talent hunt in 2015. Their acclaimed debut album, Aalas ka Pedh, went on to become one of the best-selling independent albums of the year and was also featured on the “Most Streamed Albums” list on Apple Music. Best known for singles such as Aaoge Tum Kabhi and Choo Lo, they perform in many college fests across the country and in music hotspots such as Hard Rock Café and Bacardi NH7 Weekender.
The band had come to Pilani during Oasis 2015 as well, where it was the opening act for Papon for the Hindi Prof Show. That they have been called twice in a span of three years is a strong indication of their rising popularity. They have a packed schedule for February 2018, touring seven colleges across the country in a span of ten days.
