Not many clubs are as elite as the English Language Activities Society, which is a society responsible for hosting English language and activities on campus. Among the many activities include quizzes, JAMs, and every other English language activity under the BITSian Sun.
The esteemed Führer of the club, Mr. Aditya Vasudevan took time off his extremely busy schedule to grace the Press Club with his presence. Extremely selective with his words, he reminded the GBM that the quizzes are by far the most exciting events in the fest. As the most elite club on campus, his duty involves correcting the wrongdoings of his minions, and collecting taxes from those who perform in cultural assoc nites.
ELAS has been known to host quizzes for every known topic other than entertainment and music. The club has had many great sports quizzes over the years. Here is an exhaustive list of them:
- The Harry Potter Quiz
There is one sports quiz this year, The BOSM Sports Quiz. However, there is also, The BOSM Cricket Quiz. Mr. Vasudevan surprised everyone yet another time by also announcing (yet) another quiz- The BOSM Football Quiz. This time, the quizzes have been made by Utsav, Devesh, and Rajas, who have been active members of the quizzing society in this esteemed hamlet that we call home. The club has plans to have more events in the future, including but not limited to screenings of sport film masterpieces such as “The Room”, “Battle Royale”, and “A Serbian Film”.
The club was established by the Indian National Congress in the sixty-ninth session of the Congress in 1869. Since the time of Independence, the club has established itself as a status symbol. Graduates from the club grow up to be presidents, rat poison salesmen, astronauts, serial killers, and homeless people. Mr. Vasudevan cited the example of esteemed previous previous previous BoB (XXXBoB if you will) Vishal Rangarajan, who achieved the rare feat of having been all of the aforementioned professions at the same time. Other illustrious alumni include the Notorious S-MAX, Iron Man, the Tooth Fairy, Ted Bundy, Klaus Kinski, Ashoka, and Gandhar Kulkarni.
To finish this extremely enlightening interview, Mr. Vasudevan remarked,
“In fact all of the spiritual brothers and sisters, and chakras were made with chakra. The conversation with the other scholars made Angel confused. We are dedicated to getting into the process at the right time. Throughout human history, the nature of man has pervaded the galaxy. Who are we to enter the big news? There is nothing to lose in man. How can we control this world? It is recommended that the soup be made on paper. So what? It’s hard to believe if you haven’t seen the birth of this concept.”
