CrAC

With just a few days to go for BOSM, Abdul Kadir Khimani, the co-ordinator of the Creative Activities Club (CrAC), was able to squeeze time out of his busy schedule for this interview. The club is responsible for erecting structures and painting walls to give the sporty vibe that the campus needs right before the sports meet.

For this BOSM, the club has been working on four different structures—Baxter, the BOSM mascot, in the central auditorium, two giant chess pieces which are going to be placed in front of the Students’ Activities Centre (SAC), and a lamp structure covered in various artistic materials at Gym-G. Keeping TV show enthusiasts in mind, a Rick and Morty–themed art piece will be displayed on the wall close to ANC. They are also setting up a panel of athlete Hima Das and a huge 3-D art piece in Gym-G.

Besides handling the artwork, the club also organises an event, CrAC-O-Dial, on Days 1 and 2 of BOSM. The event consists of various kitty party–related games and does not have an entry fee. Abdul hopes that the event will be a success this year as rain played spoilsport in the previous edition.

The club has been working for at least three hours a day since mid-August. When asked about the schedule, Abdul said, ‘The past one month has been very hectic. The structures take up most of our time in work sessions. The increase in the number of structures and the amount of decoration as compared to previous editions of BOSM has really been challenging.’

It is Abdul’s passion for art since his school days that landed him in CrAC. He reckons that being a coordinator has helped him learn how to manage people, work, and time. Finally, he encouraged all students to actively participate in this year’s BOSM and invited them to the CrAC-O-Dial event for an exciting experience.
