AHP – An Interview

With APOGEE just around the corner, the APOGEE Hindi Press seem to have their work cut out for them. The purpose of the press is to keep in public spotlight the events of importance, and that is what AHP want to accomplish under the able leadership of Kartik Aggarwal, the coordinator of the club for this fest.

One of the events is ‘Daily Redesign,’ an event which requires participants to design a poster or the the front page of a newspaper with content provided by AHP. This will last the duration of the fest and is expected to draw in a huge crowd of designers.

AHP will also be organising the nine-round behemoth of an event Media Mania, which is expected to draw a hundred teams of two people each. This event will feature spicy rounds with a wild card entry in the middle to spice everything up even more.

The third is called I-Report, an event where participants will be uploading hilarious videos of things that happen this APOGEE. The videos do not require any film making finesse, and a mobile phone camera is enough, says Kartik. Even dubsmash videos are welcome, he adds.

Apart from organising these events, AHP will also publish a newsletter every day with articles covering events throughout the duration of the fest. There’s also the AHP Wallmag, a compendium that rounds up all the events, everything that’s new and what all to expect from this APOGEE, all from the horses’ mouth – the coordinators and CoStAAns.

The APOGEE Hindi Press is preparing harder than ever, which is necessary at this point, given the sheer stature of the fest. The number of people who attend the fest is on the rise. This means that the APOGEE Hindi Press, along with many other clubs, has to put in more and more effort every year. As daunting as the task may sound, the AHP team is hardly one to be intimidated.

This year round, AHP will focus less on the events themselves and focus more on the experiences that participants have. “If people want to know about an event, they’ll just attend it,” says Kartik.

When asked about his own expectations from the fest, he says that he expects his club to stick together and work hard. He wants people to participate in the fest, and, most importantly, he wants to see people inculcate reading as a valuable life habit.
