The Finance Committee of the Placement Unit is responsible for the promotion of the finance culture on campus. The English Press Club had the opportunity to interview Sahili Totale, the coordinator of the Finance Committee, to gain some insight into its work.
“Unless you train the students, good finance-related companies will not come to campus to offer placements”, said Sahili, elaborating on the importance of practice. To this end, the Finance Committee organizes information sessions, finance chronicles, and conferences held throughout the year. There are also finance-related internships offered periodically. ‘We regularly send emails about webinars and other events to promote the financial culture on campus.”
Sahili implored students interested in finance, or on the fence about the field, to attend the events organized by the Finance Committee. According to Sahili, there is a lot of useful information shared in such events, so they would be beneficial for each and every BITSian.
