The Nescafé Parlour is a new eatery established opposite the LTC and behind FD-2. It provides a variety of beverages, sandwiches, and burgers. The English Press Club sat down with several of the consumers for a review of the establishment.
Despite the Nescafé brand, the burgers and sandwiches proved to be more popular than the coffee as a cheaper and tastier option. The surveyed students believed that the packaged coffee provided a better alternative when compared to the freshly-made variety. The quality of crowd-favourite beverages like the Oreo shake and the cold coffee was also said to be below par when compared to the same drinks in ANC and Looters.
The ambience and the location of the Parlour have proven to be a major positive for this new eatery. Those manning the stall said that crowds came in at the end of lectures due to the stall’s proximity to LTC. The quick service provided also proved decisive in attracting crowds. They also mentioned that the number of seats needed to be increased as they fall severely short during peak hours.
Overall, the Nescafé Parlour was concluded to have provided decent service in its first month of business. However, there is significant room for improvement when it comes to the beverages being served which might be key for the future of the eatery.
