Gurukul – Madhav Nath Khanna

The BOSM English Press (BEP) spoke to Madhav Nath Khanna, the Coordinator of Gurukul for BOSM 2022, to talk about the club’s activities. Gurukul is a club for those who sing or play instruments such as the guitar, the piano, or the drums. It organises events every semester.

When asked about his experience as coordinator, Madhav said that it has been fun but quite hectic. Ever since practice sessions began a month ago, he has been spending four to five hours in the Gurukul room every day after classes. For BOSM, Gurukul will be performing in the Inauguration Ceremony. He added that it was a very rewarding experience to see all the different components of their inauguration performance come together.

Events organised by them include the ‘Gurukul Nite’, which takes place in the Main Auditorium every semester, for which practice has begun parallel to the practice for the inauguration performance. He mentioned that Gurukul also organises the ‘Psenti Nite’, and stated, ‘It’s a love letter to the members who would be graduating that semester.’

Madhav explained that Gurukul has not faced any major issues or challenges other than complications in the maintenance of their sensitive and costly instruments. The recruitments for the club take place every semester, and students of all batches are welcome to try out. Auditions are held for singers, guitarists, pianists, and drummers. Madhav mentioned that Gurukul had five new recruits in the last three months, and encouraged more students to participate in the auditions.

When asked about his interactions with the institute and the CoSSAc, Madhav said that he had no trouble and that it had been a pleasant experience so far. He expressed his hope that everyone would have a great time and enjoy Gurukul’s performance.
