No high quality fest is complete without talks from eminent personalities. This is exactly what the BITS Embryo Club sees to.

This Oasis, there will be a talk by the best-selling author of the Shiva trilogy, Amish Tripathi. The talk is organized by members of the Embryo Club, who are leaving no stones unturned to ensure that this talk is a phenomenal success. Looking visibly worn out after a long day’s work, Shashwat, coordinator of Embryo Club, greeted us cheerfully as he started talking about the plethora of events lined up this Oasis.

He shared details of the process of calling a speaker for any talk, live or through video conference , with us. The members of the club first send a mail pitching to the speaker they would want to work with, and this is followed by rounds of negotiation with the speaker and his associates. Shashwat said that the greatest challenge they faced during the negotiations for Amish Tripathi, was arranging for travel facilities that would meet the expectations of the high profile speaker. The scheduling of the talk during the fest was also an issue, as the date had to be changed at the last moment due to Mr. Tripathi’s personal commitments.

Shashwat, who has been in the club since his first year at BITS, says that being a part of Embryo Club has helped him interact with strangers better, along with improving his convincing powers. The talk will be held on Day 0 of Oasis, but the exact time is yet to be decided .His message to the general BITSians is that they should come to the talk even if they haven’t read any of his books.The USP of the event is that Amish Tripathi would be signing a limited number of books for those who choose to buy them at the event.
