Embryo

Mayan Agarwal, the coordinator of the Embryo Club, took some time out from his busy schedule to talk to the Oasis English Press regarding the club’s preparations for the 50th Oasis.

Based on the idea of “Borderless Classes and Bottomless Resources”, the Embryo Club organizes talks on various topics including space tech, finance, crypto, and photography. The club is also responsible for inviting the chief guests for BOSM and Oasis.

For Oasis, the club has invited two chief guests, one for the inauguration of Oasis and the other for the film festival. They have also invited a Tabla player as the opening act for the EDM Night.

When asked if the club faced any problems, Mayan mentioned that the club started preparing for the fest almost four months ago and everything was going on smoothly. However, since Oasis is overlapping with the Filmfare Awards and the Film Festival in Goa this year, a lot of A-list celebrities became unavailable after Diwali. To overcome this problem, the club started inviting chefs, authors, and politicians instead of Bollywood stars. Mayan admitted that it was difficult to arrange everything in such a short period of time. He further added that the StuCCA has been very responsive which helped the club a lot.

Talking about his experience as a coordinator, Mayan said that it was a roller coaster ride for him. However, despite the problems the club faced, he is optimistic about the events. With the collective efforts of the entire team, the pressure got divided and the work became manageable.

Towards the end of the interview, he advised BITSians to enjoy and have fun with the events because even though the A-listers are not a part of Oasis this time, the artists who will be joining us instead are immensely talented and knowledgeable of their craft.
