After having hosted the famous Bangalore-based rock band ‘Lagori’ during BOSM, the Department of Live Events (DoLE) has heaps of entertainment lined up for OASIS. With an ambitious plan of organising a massive Hindi prof-show, namely ‘Amit Trivedi Live’, DoLE is inviting a troupe of 16 people from Coke Studio (a television series which experiments in fusion music) to land on the dusty sands of Pilani on the 21st of October, 2016.

As we interview the DoLE coordinator, Ishan Shreyash in his dimly lit room where flickering lights remind you of the pop culture of the 90’s, we are told about the surprises awaiting everyone in Oasis. There were subtle mentions of Israeli and Dutch performances being organised by their route embassies. Sadly, we have been sworn to secrecy, and cannot divulge further details, as of now.

Talking about the pre-fest preparations, Ishan is pleased about the way their events have been publicised. The department has been working round the clock to ensure that everything is perfect. Notably, the budget and the scale for the prof-show is much more than last year’s Oasis.  “The work is pretty hectic. Contacting popular artists and dealing with them is a difficult process. Luckily, Amit Trivedi has been very co-operative and we are confident that his performance will be a blast. BITSians are definitely going to enjoy it”, he says proudly.

With the rhythm in our favour and the right music on the charts, one strongly hopes that these efforts pay off.
