With BOSM right around the corner, the BOSM English Press sat down with Ansh Rastogi, the coordinator of FitBITS, to talk about the event they will be organizing during BOSM.
Founded in 2019 by fitness enthusiasts, FitBITS organizes weekly runs and cycling events. The number of participants has gradually increased over the years, which was evident from the participation in the 60-km cycling event conducted in January this year.
Ansh explained that FitBITS will be organizing an event called “Glow Run” during BOSM, where participants will run a mini-marathon at night around dark areas on campus like the staff quarters, wearing glow bands. He expects a high turnout, considering that this is a more informal event and not as athletic-oriented as others.
Ansh shared that he had a very fun experience working as the coordinator of FitBITS. He also felt that it was his responsibility to work with the CoSSaC to ensure they got good sponsors. He mentioned the popularity of the app “Strava”, which has a dedicated FitBITS channel created by a BITS alumnus to unite fitness enthusiasts on campus.
As the interview drew to a close, Ansh called out to all his fellow BITSians, especially the freshers, asking them to attend all the sports events, cheer for their peers and seniors, and most importantly, enjoy the fest.
