Creative Activities Club

The BOSM English Press sat down with Azzaam Usmani—the Coordinator—and Rudra Jewalikar—the BOSM Secretary of the Creative Activities Club (CrAC)—to learn about the club’s role in the upcoming fest.

The club is responsible for making structures, painting walls, and bringing vibrance to the campus. In this BOSM, Azzam said that the club had planned to make a variety of structures and paintings. They are responsible for creating the letters of the word “BOSM” outside the Clock Tower and Gym-G, with each letter featuring a prominent sports figure. Furthermore, Rudra revealed that they are in charge of designing a panel that, this year, centres around the famous chess player, Viswanathan Anand. They also plan to feature the BOSM hashtag, ‘The Roar of Resilience’ on a wall. They have been working on Baxter, the BOSM mascot, as well. Additionally, CrAC is also organizing “CrAC-o-dile, a mini-games event involving paint and art.

Talking about their preparatory work, Azzaam shared that they had begun working over a month before the fest and held daily sessions. They started by going on a work trip to procure all the inventory they needed. Following this, they designed references and then started sketching. Highlighting the challenges that the club had encountered, Azzam shared that since people had unrestricted access to their inventory, they would often steal their structures, brushes, and other items. This forced them to make unplanned purchases, resulting in additional expenses.

Azzaam emphasized that his role as coordinator was to ensure the quality of work but also to make sure that the members were enjoying their work. Rudra added that, despite being a first-time secretary, his experience was enjoyable.

On a parting note, Azzaam encouraged students to preserve their creativity and to enjoy the club’s art. In addition, Rudra urged BITSians to attend CrAC-o-dile with their wingies.
