The BOSM English Press conducted an interview with Sachika Lala, the Coordinator of BITS Embryo, to delve into their preparations for BOSM 2023.

One of Embryo’s pivotal tasks is to extend invitations to the Chief Guest. After rigorous pursuit and extensive deliberation, they proudly confirmed Devendra Jhajharia as the Chief Guest for BOSM 2023. Jhajharia, a distinguished Paralympic javelin thrower, has earned accolades such as the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna and Padma Bhushan, along with Gold Medals at the 2004 and 2016 Paralympic Games. His inspiring journey and remarkable achievements promise to add a touch of excellence to BOSM 2023.

Scheduling was one of the major challenges for securing a Chief Guest, given that the Asian Games were slated to commence just a day after BOSM’s inauguration. This scheduling conflict caused sportspersons and administrative officials to be preoccupied, leading to some confirmed Chief Guest candidates retracting their commitment. The constraints imposed by the Asian Games meant that the pool of potential Chief Guests was significantly limited.

In addition to the Chief Guest, BITS Embryo has lined up videos featuring sporting legends like Unmukt Chand and Vicky Chandhok, conveying their best wishes to the participants. These videos will be prominently showcased on Instagram and played during the inauguration, adding an extra layer of excitement and inspiration to the event.

Sachika expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the CoSSAc and the Sports Union for their unwavering support throughout the preparation process. As she reminisced about her tenure as coordinator, she reflected on the tremendous efforts that commenced as early as May and acknowledged the invaluable contributions of her seniors, batchmates, and juniors.

Before concluding the interview, Sachika extended her best wishes to all BOSM participants, urging them to give their utmost on their home turf. She also made a heartfelt request to all BITSians not to leave the campus during BOSM and to experience the unique energy that courses through the Gym-G during this spirited extravaganza.
