With Oasis just around the corner, the Oasis English Press sat down with Pretyut Sundarrajan, the coordinator of the Chemistry Association, to learn more about their preparations for the fest.

Pretyut said their club will stick with their trademark event, High on Helium. Additionally, he noted that they have been organising this event for the past two years, which has led to an overall very smooth process of organisation. He said it was a karaoke event where they could sing songs after inhaling Helium. He also mentioned that the event will be held at VK Lawns from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM, for the first two days of the fest.

Pratyut informed that the Chemistry Association could not collaborate with the Karaoke Club this time since the latter would be hosting events of their own. He said they had finally agreed to collaborate with ComHub, and they were planning to host another event — Helium Scare — if they had enough Helium left.

On being asked about the club’s preparatory work for the fest, Pratyut replied that they began their preparation for Oasis in August itself and hence, the entire process had gone without any major hiccups so far. He further informed that the club had tried to ideate on a new event but decided against it because of the fest’s theme.

As a general concluding remark, Pretyut requested everyone to attend the event and participate more. He mentioned that he wanted them to sing funny songs and make memories with their wingies, especially for third-year students for whom this would be their last or second-to-last Oasis.
