The Oasis English Press sat down with Aryan Sonwatikar, the coordinator of the Film Making Club (FMaC), to get a glimpse into the club and its preparations for the upcoming fest.

Aryan explained that FMaC would be organising numerous events under the banner of the Film Festival, of which various other clubs are a part as well. Aryan noted that FMaC would also be organising a movie screening in the presence of an established guest from the film industry. Upon further questioning, Aryan hinted that the guest might amaze people, but preferred to keep it as a surprise. 

He continued to add that Metamorphosis is one of their core events. He elaborated that it is a short film-making competition, in which participants are judged by a movie critic from the film industry. He went on to say that they would also be conducting Hypercut and Uncharted, an online advertisement-making competition and an escape room respectively. When asked about how the events would contrast from last year, Aryan stated that Hypercut is a completely new event in which they hope to see success. 

Aryan revealed that FMaC encountered a number of challenges, mainly pertaining to lack of time, which led to heavy workloads.. He further added that many of the guests they contacted, preferred to visit the Mumbai Film Festival, which happened to coincide with Oasis. When asked about his experience as coordinator, Aryan said that it would be better if he commented on it after the fest.

On a parting note, Aryan mentioned that he hopes for their events to be conducted more smoothly than last year, and that they strike a chord with the public.
