Pilani Atmanirbhar Resource Centre

With Oasis approaching at full tilt, the Oasis English Press sat down with Rahul Mohapatra, the coordinator of Pilani Atma-Nirbhar Resource Centre (PARC), to discuss the workings of the club for the fest.

Rahul explained that PARC primarily promotes the welfare of people in and around Pilani by providing an atmosphere for skill training, job creation, and more. He added that this year, PARC would be putting up two stalls, which would give its audience the freedom to experience simulated menstrual cramps or craft clay pots. Rahul mentioned that there were a few difficulties during the planning stages, primarily with regard to vendor negotiations, but they were pragmatically dealt with as a team.

Rahul revealed that being the coordinator of PARC had been a marvellous experience for him. He shared that he appreciated not only representing the club but also the positive values he developed while working for Oasis. He further added that he had learned how to deal with different aspects of organising an event, such as constructing inventories and overseeing budget meetings which ultimately led to an improvement in his communication skills.

On a parting note, Rahul articulated that PARC is special in the sense that it is not just an NGO but a medium between the locals and other organisations and encouraged everyone to be a part of this community.
