FitBits

The BOSM English Press sat down with Tavish Agarwal, the Coordinator of FitBits to gain a quick insight into all the events FitBits has in store for this edition of BOSM.

During the rest of the year, Tavish stated that FitBits mainly focused on organising two events: sunrise cycling and runs. He described the 50km cycling events, which are preferably held early in the morning, as especially popular amongst students with a recorded attendance of around 100-200 people. When asked about the club’s plans for BOSM, the Coordinator explained that they’re planning to host two runs: a 7-10 kilometre run pre-BOSM, and a Glow Run on Day 0.

Tavish elaborated that the Sports Union wanted FitBits to conduct a pre-BOSM run, which is expected to be held on the Sunday before BOSM. The participants will be timed and the winners will be awarded medals. He also remarked that there might be a surprise event during the fest, but did not reveal any further details.

He mentioned that the Glow Run, which was already organised once in the previous edition of BOSM, is to be held on Day 0, which is expected to start at 12 am from the Rotunda. The participants will be given glow bands to hold on to as they are asked to run around a three-kilometre circle. Tavish confirmed that refreshments will be provided by the club.

When asked about the club’s preparations, he explained that they start ideation for their events about a month before the fest begins, while the implementation is held off until a week before the fest. Tavish stated that whatever brief interactions he has had with the CoSSAc so far have been rather pleasant, and that there hasn’t been ‘a headache from their end’. He proceeded to say that all the arrangements for the fest have been going on smoothly without any hiccups and is thankful for it.

As the interview drew to an end, the Coordinator reminded the readers that FitBits tries to make sure that their events can cater to the entire campus, and encouraged them to show up and participate with their wingies or their friends and assured them that they’d have a good time.
