Coding Club

The Oasis English Press sat down with Parth Khandelwal, the Coordinator for the Coding Club, to get a glimpse into their preparations for the upcoming fest.

According to Parth, the main function of the Coding Club is to maintain the ‘coding culture’ on campus and improve the programming skills of both the club members as well as other students.

For this edition of Oasis, the Coding Club was organising a triad of workshops and a hackathon. Parth explained that the workshops would be based on 3D Design using Blender, Competitive Coding, and AI/ML technologies. The hackathon was a sponsored event and would be completely organised and managed by the sponsor. Parth stated that the purpose of the workshops was to give proper exposure and an introduction to the various applications of coding to the students, especially the first-years.

The pre-fest preparations for the club included managing budgets, organising the workforce across the various verticals, and communicating with them. Parth stated that one of the most important tasks for the club was to ensure the quality of the content being taught during the workshops. He added that this process required a lot of discussion and deliberation among the members.

Talking about the setbacks faced during his tenure as Coordinator, Parth mentioned incomplete information as well as delayed responses from sponsors, club members, and other clubs and departments. He concluded by urging everyone to stay on campus for Oasis and enjoy the festivities.
