The APOGEE English Press sat down with Shubham Singh, the coordinator of Department of Reception and Accommodation (RecNAcc), to gain some insight into their preparations for the fest.
Shubham elaborated that the department, as the name states, is in charge of arranging accommodation and registrations for all outstation participants. The former involves coordinating with vendors to provide essentials such as mattresses, blankets, and other basic amenities. The latter includes visiting participants to check in at the RecNAcc tent (after visiting Firewallz), located in front of the Old Workshop, to complete their registration and receive details about their accommodation. He further explained that the department is also responsible for booking VFAST and other hotels to accommodate food managers, judges, and artists during their stay in Pilani.
He said that the department also manages the inventory required by all the clubs and departments. This involves arranging booths and ensuring that all clubs and departments have everything they need to carry out their events seamlessly.
Shubham said that recent budget cuts have not affected the department much, as inventory has not changed in the last few years. On a parting note, he mentioned that all the CoStAAns had been pleasant and approachable.
