Congratulations on getting into BITS Pilani! Unfortunately, Pilani is not the most conveniently located place, and there is no obvious, direct path for you to take. The English Press Club has you covered with a quick and easy guide—not just on how to get to Pilani, but also on your prospects for accommodation.
There are many ways to travel to Pilani; for instance, you can simply walk there. It is an arduous journey with many hardships, but from the toil, you will emerge as a better person in all regards. On the off chance that you do not have a spare month or two lying around, there are more efficient means of travelling there — particularly cabs, buses, trains, flights, or a combination of these.
AIR
If you live quite far from Pilani, a flight is one of the ways you can get there without sacrificing a large amount of time. The closest airports to Pilani are in Jaipur and Delhi. Unfortunately, aeroplanes do not make good road vehicles; thus, you will have to take a bus or cab for the remainder of the way.
RAIL
Similarly, there is a clear shortage of railway stations in Pilani. The closest you can find are located in Chirawa and Loharu, about 23 and 18 kilometres away from Pilani, respectively. Several trains run directly from Delhi, as well as some other metropolitan cities, to Loharu. Detailed train schedules for the same are available on the IRCTC website.
ROAD
Unlike the other two, this is completely unavoidable, and some part of your journey will have to be covered by road. This issue will primarily cover travel from Delhi, Jaipur, and the surrounding areas. However, if you plan to cover the entire journey by road, make sure you have a clear roadmap and know exactly which route you are taking. If travelling by bus or cab, it is advisable to have them pre-booked. You can make generous use of the special student discounts for BITSIANS available on cabs on platforms like Uber and Shoffr. The estimated time of travel from both Delhi and Jaipur is 4 to 6 hours.
Listed below are a few of the routes that can be chosen:
- Jaipur – Manoharpur – Kotputli – Narnaul – Chirawa – Pilani (225 Kms)Â
- Delhi – Bahadurgarh – Jhajjar – Charkhi Dadri – Loharu – Pilani (182 Kms)
- Delhi – Bahadurgarh – Rohtak – Bhiwani – Loharu – Pilani (208 Kms)Â
- Delhi – Gurgaon – Rewari – Mahendragarh – Satnali – Loharu – Pilani (220 Kms)Â
- Jaipur – Chomun – Ringus – Sikar – Nawalgarh – Jhunjhunu – Chirawa – Pilani (224 Kms)
You are now equipped with the information to mix and match these routes to your content.
ACCOMMODATIONÂ

As a last piece of advice, we would advise you to proceed with the bookings posthaste, as during this time people descend upon Pilani like a swarm of locusts, and options may run out as time goes by.
