Development in IoT Networks

IoT or the Internet of Things is among the most latent technologies and is expected to influence almost every sector of Engineering and Industry in the near future. At this point it is still a developing technology with tremendous research surrounding it. The development of the IoT network will require extensive work on all network layers to make them feasible for it. This paper specifically focuses on the Application Layer
of the network and the development of a REST Model within it. This paper discusses how the current response formats are ill-suited for the lightweight and low power IoT infrastructure and goes on to discuss and to analyse advanced response formats and their effectiveness in the IoT domain as compared to conventional response formats.
