Aryaman Shah, the coordinator of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), spoke to the APOGEE English Press about the events that the club will be organising for APOGEE 2023. This year, AIChE will be hosting ‘Chem-E-Jeopardy’, an offline competition, and a ‘Chem-E-Car’ stall showcasing their unique car that runs on chemical reactions.
In addition to organising events for APOGEE, AIChE also conducts classes under their K-12 program, participates in national level competitions, and conducts various talks. The club has been investing months of effort in research and development for preparing a working model of their Chem-E-Car before the fest.
Aryaman shared that his experience as coordinator has been amazing, and that he has a great team to support him. He faced some difficulties in managing logistics and encountered setbacks with the model of the Chem-E-Car. His interactions with the CoStAA and the Institute have been positive, with both being supportive and dedicated to their work.
AIChE, BITS Pilani has come a long way since its inception in 2018. While it consisted of just a small council of members then, it now boasts a large team and a host of impressive achievements, including the title of India’s Best Chapter for Chem-E-Jeopardy for which they were even invited to Arizona, US.
Aryaman invites all BITSians to visit the Chem-E-Car stall to witness a first-of-its-kind car that runs on chemical reactions. He also recommends attending the Chem-E-Jeopardy competition to learn playing techniques from the current National Champions. Finally, he encourages everyone to explore the various events and stalls during APOGEE and make the most out of them.
