Audiforce

The APOGEE English Press sat down with Puneeth, the coordinator of the Department of Audiforce to gain insights into their preparations and responsibilities for the upcoming fest.

Audiforce mainly manages crowds during prof shows held during fests. They do this by checking for passes at the gate and scanning the QR codes on people’s tickets. He added that they also provide security for relatively smaller events organised by clubs. They also regulate backstage entry by ensuring that entrants have the required passes. Additionally, they reserve seats for different departments in the Inauguration Ceremony and are entrusted with escorting the Chief Guest to their seat at each of these shows.

Regarding pre-fest preparations, Puneeth mentioned that he coordinated with the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to decide the number of guards required. Additionally, they discussed barricading arrangements and other logistical details with the Chief Warden.

When asked about entry and exit protocols during prof shows, Puneeth clarified that these decisions are finalised on the day of the event itself. He stated that he and a representative from Controls will sit together to determine who could access the VIP boxes. For general attendees, Puneeth explained that QR codes would be scanned at entry points.

Addressing issues regarding fake wristbands and unauthorised VIP entries, Puneeth attributed these problems mainly to last-minute requests from members of bodies such as the Students’ Union. To prevent similar occurrences this year, he said they plan to request prior information about authorised attendees well in advance. Puneeth further elaborated that Audiforce juniors will inspect wristbands at entry points. Legitimate bands would receive a stamp allowing entry while suspicious ones would be denied entry and reported immediately to CoStAAns.

On handling unruly or intoxicated attendees, Puneeth mentioned that Firewallz personnel patrolled event areas and managed such cases involving outsiders. He added that Audiforce members would promptly report problematic behaviour to Firewallz. For similar incidents involving campus residents, Puneeth admitted complexities exist in managing these situations. However, he clarified that he would communicate directly with CoStAAns to address such issues.

Regarding organisational changes this year, Puneeth observed minor delays but noted no significant difference in how clubs and departments functioned overall. He expressed excitement about APOGEE being organised in spite of multiple clubs and associates being inactive.

Reflecting on his experience as Audiforce coordinator so far, Puneeth described it as, “relatively smooth.” He recalled minor technical issues previously encountered with DVM, as well as ticketing during the Food Fest but expressed confidence in resolving these smoothly in the upcoming fest.
