The BOSM English Press sat down with Priyanshi, the BOSM Coordinator of the Department of Audiforce (Audiforce), to learn more about their responsibilities and preparations for BOSM 2026.
The Coordinator shared that students often viewed Audiforce as ‘security guards’, and she emphasised that they had a much broader role to play, both on and off the ground. Priyanshi then went on to explain that Audiforce was responsible for managing crowds and entry at major events such as concerts and comedy shows, as well as escorting the Chief Guest at the inauguration. They also put up barricades in South Park during the professional shows to ensure smooth entry of the audience. She also said that this time the department had pitched for N2O and would be handling the entries for the same.
Priyanshi talked about their shortcomings from last year and mentioned that they had learned and improved a lot. She reflected on some instances from previous fests where the crowd had become difficult to control. They wanted to avoid overcrowding and stampedes this time. Certain changes with the barricading and the layout of the VIP entry section during APOGEE had helped Audiforce manage the crowd more effectively, and they planned to implement those learning outcomes for BOSM as well. The scanning and verification process largely remained the same, but the new layouts for the VIP zone would help them speed up the process, she added.
The one difficulty faced by the department prior to the fest was negotiating and finalising the barricading vendor, while the major challenge during the fest remained crowd management. Talking about the barricading vendors, Priyanshi stated that they explored many vendor options, including some from the previous fests. They decided to go with the one who had quoted the best price and had already worked with them before.
To avoid burning out her workforce, she assigned each member a different event and a different checkpoint. Priyanshi remarked that they had an efficient system to substitute members who got tired during long events like the professional shows. She stated that the recruits would also get an opportunity to learn from their seniors and be better prepared for the upcoming fests.
As a parting remark, Priyanshi asked all the attendees to follow the instructions communicated by Audiforce for a smoother and hassle-free entry process. She hoped that everyone would cooperate with them and enjoy the fest.
