BITS Pilani Consulting Club

The Apogee English Press (AEP) met with Aditya Garg, director of events and the APOGEE coordinator of the BITS Pilani Consulting Club (BPCC), to learn about the events they had been planning for APOGEE ’25.

BPCC seeks to promote consulting culture within the campus. “It is currently insubstantial and has great potential to grow,” he said. To that end, the BPCC had modified Case Questa, the club’s flagship event for APOGEE, making the final round open to the entire student body. In his opinion, this would increase audience engagement and stimulate greater interest in consulting and associated domains.

Case Questa remains the sole event of BPCC in this edition of APOGEE. Additionally, they had managed to obtain the firm Infra.Market as a sponsor for the event by collaborating with the Department of Sponsorship and Marketing.

Talking more about Case Questa, Garg said that the event is a competition where teams compete to analyze and solve realistic business problems. He mentioned they had received around 1375 individual registrations, with 600 teams and noted how the participants had risen by 300 as compared to the previous year’s 1011. This year, the prize pool for the event was noted to be 60,000 rupees. Garg added that the final round for the event would feature talks from leading industry experts.

Garg added that it had been a boon that nearly everyone in the club had been active. He stated that they did not face any issues this year, unlike last year when they had struggled to find sponsors and finalise their judges in time. Additionally, the club has been working to convince more contestants to attend offline, which has always been difficult due to the remoteness of Pilani.

Speaking of his own experience as coordinator, Garg recalled that it had been highly educational and that learning the intricacies of organising events had helped him grow. He expressed gratitude to all his fellow club members and the authorities he had interacted with for their support.

On a concluding note, Garg stressed the potential of consulting as a field and career. “Consulting culture in BITS is underdeveloped but has great potential, this is most simply due to a lack of exposure. However, consulting is accessible to even the most inexperienced people.”
