Amid the hustle and bustle of the 50th Oasis, Raashi Vanwani, the coordinator of the Chemistry Association spoke to the Oasis English Press about her experience preparing for the fest.
Continuing the legacy, the Chemistry Association will be hosting ‘High on Helium’ on the S lawns. It is an open mic event where one carries out tasks like jingles, mimicry and jokes after inhaling helium that alters the tone of your voice while speaking. The event is based on the theme ‘Cartoon characters’ and the attendees will be greeted by different cartoon characters at its location. The novelty of the event is the collaboration with the karaoke club which will be performing in between the tasks.
While reflecting on her role as coordinator she appreciated her team and said that ‘They are very supportive, everyone takes out time from their busy schedules and works every day.’ Their prime focus right now is the decoration of the stall. Raashi mentioned that she has not come across any major problems with the preparations, they have been going smoothly and on schedule. She looks forward to juniors coming up with event ideas to expand the horizon and have more events from the Chemistry Association at Oasis in future.
Raashi believed that the 50th edition is expected to attract an enthusiastic crowd. Since a lot of people working on the events did not see Oasis before, she opined that it did more good than harm, as people are coming up with new and innovative ideas. When asked about the work hours, she said, ‘I’m loving the spirit of the people. SAC is always lively and people are working with their full energy, this atmosphere is making me even more excited for Oasis’. As a concluding remark, she hoped to see students enjoy ‘High on Helium’ and have a fun time.
