Coding Club

“Now that it’s Diwali, we have our rooms free, and we work twelve hours at a stretch sometimes.” said Srivatsa, a coding club member, when asked about the schedule of the club before Oasis. Coding Club plans to host two major events this year, one being a pre-Oasis event, contributing to the buildup of the fest. The pre-Oasis event is a fiction quiz covering four genres, namely Marvel and DC comics, Harry Potter and Game of Thrones. This event has been planned by the web development (front-end and back-end) teams within the club. Apart from this, the game development team is working on an infinite runner game set, which involves motion-sensing equipment, hence demanding a lot more effort from the player than simply touching a phone screen.

“The coordinator gets to work with all the teams within the club and that is a really great experience”, said the Joint Coordinator. Apart from Oasis, the club also works towards developing the official app for BOSM, and hosting quizzes and games during Apogee. On a regular basis they also conduct workshops for coding enthusiasts, like the web design workshop that been conducted recently. “We want to inculcate a coding culture within the student population. We code because we love to, not just because we think it will get us placed.” said the Coordinator Amit Soni before signing off.
