Sanyam Garg, the coordinator of Communo, took time out of his schedule to talk to the Oasis English Press (OEP) about the club and its plans for the upcoming fest.
Sanyam explained that Communo will be holding three events this year. The first one is AdMad, where contestants have to pitch an unusual item to the judges and will be scored accordingly. The second event is Piction, which will be played in teams of two. The participants are shown the same picture but from different perspectives. The challenge is to describe the picture in such a way that does not contradict what their teammate had said before. The last event is Heads Up, in which one person has to hold a card on their head and the other one has to help them guess a particular word.
Their preparations have been ongoing for over two months now, but Sanyam assured the OEP that there have been no hiccups. The budget and inventory needed for the events were approved readily, and the StuCCA even helped the club improve their events.
Talking about his experience as the coordinator, Sanyam mentioned, ‘It gets way too hectic sometimes. But coordinating with different people, different departments to put together an event and see how it works is a really fun experience.’
With the club’s main goal being to improve soft skills among its members, Oasis provides the perfect platform to actually test them and provide a huge learning experience. Sanyam urged BITSians to come out of their rooms and attend as many events as possible.
