CrAC – Shubham Mishra

The BOSM English Press sat down with Shubham Mishra, the Coordinator of the Creative Activities Club (CrAC), to learn about the club’s role in the upcoming fest.

CrAC-o-dile, in which various minute-to-win games are set up in a room, is the event CrAC will be conducting this BOSM. Apart from the event, Shubham added that they are also responsible for a lot of the decoration work around the campus. Baxter, the BOSM mascot, and a giant torch that is to be lit during the Inauguration Ceremony, are two of the four structures that CrAC has planned for the fest.

Detailing the process of the club’s preparatory work, he explained that firstly, they had to consider the theme given and hold brainstorming sessions with the entire club present to come up with ideas. Then, they had to decide on the art styles to be used. Shubham emphasised the importance of picking the right art styles as he believes different styles evoke different reactions, and the styles used in a sports fest should vastly differ from the ones used in cultural or technical fests. After deciding on ideas, art styles, which structures to build, and which sports personalities to use for their panels, they got to figuring out the required inventory and then began the actual work of creating these artworks.

Speaking about his experience as coordinator, Shubham shared his surprise at how smoothly it all went. He said that he had thought he might not be able to get people to communicate back with him and give their best efforts, but was glad to be proven wrong.

As for a parting note to the readers, he mentioned a quote written on an almirah in the CrAC room that reads, ‘4 years, 10 fests, infinite memories,’ and asked everyone to make the most of these fests and enjoy themselves.
