With BOSM 2024 a week away, the BOSM English Press reached out to the Coordinator of the Creative Activities Club (CrAC), Rajdeep Singh Bhati, to discuss the work the club was undertaking for the fest.
Bhati mentioned that the club was working on the BOSM letters, wherein the following Indian sportspersons were featured: Dipa Karmakar, Mary Kom, PT Usha, Rahul Dravid, and Sunil Chhetri. The giant letter structures would be made in a mosaic art form.
In addition to the letters, the club was also working on three structures — a structure of Rohit Sharma’s hand holding the ICC World Cup trophy, a structure of Manu Bhaker holding her bronze medal from the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics and a pistol, and finally a structure of the mascot named Baxter.
Bhati then talked about the two panels the club is working on; a vertical panel featuring a character from the anime Haikyuu playing volleyball, and a horizontal panel featuring art of people playing different sports.
The coordinator then talked about the BOSM Torch Ceremony, for which they made a torch and a structure. When asked about the events the club is organising, Bhati mentioned two events, the first being Splash, a face painting event that will be free of charge for everyone, and the second event, which will be an art relay challenge. The latter is being organised in collaboration with the Department of Sports Publicity and Design.
When asked about difficulties faced while preparing for the fest, Bhati mentioned that even though the members were willing to work overnight on the pieces, the Students Activities Centre closing at 11 PM implied they had to work for a greater number of days and had more hectic work sessions.
The coordinator appreciated the student bodies working for the fest. Bhati added that the SFC and the CoSSac ‘enthusiastically supported’ the club, by providing them with the required inventory, approving the events pitched, and maintaining smooth communication overall.
Bhati requested the GBM to look out for the events organised by CrAC, since they add vibrancy to the fest and are ‘full of adrenaline’.
