CRISS Robotics

Facing a vendor cancellation just two weeks before the fest is certainly a stressful situation, but as Mahip Gorana, the fest coordinator of CRISS Robotics, said to the APOGEE English Press (AEP), they simply were not going to let ‘RoboWars’ down.

‘RoboWars’ will take place from 5th to 7th April 2024 and is among the five events that CRISS will be organising during the fest. Mahip remarked that, unlike last year, ‘RoboWars’ will feature two distinct weight classes. He added that they will also be conducting a 3D workshop where the students can acquire skills in developing robotic parts. Moreover, they will be organising the ‘Technical Experiences Zone’, where attendees will be able to experience activities such as ‘Mini-RoboWars’ and ‘Drone Football’ from the company Botmakers.

Throughout the year, CRISS focuses mainly on studying, recreating, and innovating planetary rovers. Mahip shared that they have worked to build two rovers, the latter of which will be exhibited in a Rover Showcase during the fest. While talking about the showcase, he recounted how proud he was of their team’s growth since its inception in 2021.

To add to this roster of events, Mahip talked about the Multigp Drone Racing event, a competitive event testing drone technology, by pitting them against each other. This event is set to take place from 5th to 6th April 2024.

On a concluding note, Mahip encouraged everyone to attend the fest as CoStAA has offered humongous support to the tech teams.
