The Oasis English Press sat down with Dhruvjit Patra, the President of the Culinary Club, to understand the inner workings of the club and its preparations for the upcoming fest.
Dhruvjit explained that they would be conducting a new event this year called the Pizza Workshop. He elaborated that participants would be able to make their own pizzas and learn the entire process from scratch.
When asked about the challenges faced, Dhruvjit described the entire process as arduous, mentioning difficulties related to budgeting and troubles with the StuCCA. Moreover, he said that there were severe risks of losses due to the perishable inventory. He shared that they also received support from SSMS in securing vendors for their event which he noted to be a difficult task on its own.
Touching on his experience in this club, Dhruvjit remarked that he enjoyed cooking and believed it to be a skill that everyone should strive to develop. He asserted that the aim of the club was to promote the general notion of cooking and incite interest among students in the same domain.
On a parting note, Dhruvjit urged everyone to learn how to cook, and to fully enjoy the fest.
