Department of Audiforce – Sai Nanda Harsha

The BOSM English Press sat down with Sai Nanda Harsha, the BOSM Coordinator for Audiforce for a quick chat on how the Department of Audiforce is preparing for the fest.

Talking about the current workforce, Sai shared that they have 20 members from the 2021 batch who will be working for the fest. He added that they were hoping for the 2022 batch to arrive before BOSM so they could have a larger workforce. When asked about their responsibilities during the fest, he said they majorly work towards managing the entryways and scanning tickets during big events like Inauguration, EDM Nite, and N2O. They also have to regulate the crowd inside the auditorium and make reservations for departments and CoSSAcns during the Inauguration and professional shows. Simply put, they have to ensure that the fest goes smoothly at the request of other departments.

Considering the fact that the fest is being conducted offline after three years, he said that they learned everything from scratch, with their seniors’ and the current CoSSAc’s help. When asked about the challenges he is expecting to face during the fest, he said that the major challenge would be facing the crowd. ‘Every time there is a sounds or a lights issue, while they are working backstage, we are the ones facing the crowd,’ he added. Ensuring that they do not lose control over the crowd during such instances is a major task according to him.

Elaborating on their strategies to manage the huge crowd—including more than 1200 outstation students—Sai shared that the Inauguration is not a challenge since it is open to all and there is no ticket scanning. For EDM Nite, however, it is very difficult to manage the crowd since South Park has three entrances. People who do not have tickets often try jumping in to avoid getting stopped by Audiforce. He shared that until the ticket is scanned no amount is deducted from the SWD accounts and thus, people who have the tickets try to jump in as well. They also carry food and beverages with them which are not permitted inside South Park. To make sure that they don’t face these issues during the fest, Audiforce is trying to set up barriers and ropes. This would regulate the entry system at South Park.

Sai concluded by urging the GBM to cooperate and help them in the smooth functioning of the fest. In conclusion, he stated, ‘The job we do is very simple, doing it efficiently is what takes effort.’
