With less than a couple of weeks left for BOSM, Devashish Bonde, the CoSSACn of the Department of Reception and Accommodation (RecNAcc), spoke to us about his department’s upcoming work.
RecNAcc’s preparatory work for BOSM is to enquire about the inventory needs of other clubs and departments, and plan accordingly. It manages the infrastructure and inventory, and sets up accommodation centres in various hostels for the outstation teams. ‘Every other department or club has certain inventory requirements for their work. It is our job to provide them with those items. We are responsible for the physical existence of the fest,’ Devashish commented.
To ensure that the department functions smoothly, Devashish feels that it is essential for its members, especially the freshers, to have a sense of camaraderie. ‘The first years have bonded well, and we need them to work for the fest with a sense of companionship. This year, we are also focusing on improved documentation. It is better if all the records are kept in one place, as it makes things easier for every other organisation involved in the fest,’ he added.
On being asked about his CoSSACn experience, he said, ‘Previously, I played a small role in the fest, and now, suddenly, I have a lot of responsibility towards it. But it’s fun, as the other CoSSACns are very helpful and proactive.’
Devashish signed off with a message for the freshers – ‘BOSM has a spirit of sportsmanship and competitiveness. So even if you’re not a sportsperson, do participate in BOSM. There is a lot to learn, and you will definitely find something that interests you.’
