The Department of Sponsorship and Marketing, BOSM, is primarily responsible for getting companies to invest in BOSM. Apart from that, they also manage the food stalls in Gym-G. We spoke to Harshoman Sinha, their CoSSACn, to gain better perspective on how they operate and what we can expect from this year’s fest.
Most of the department’s work is done before the fest begins, and they begin calling companies as early as April. During BOSM they ensure that there is proper “brand publicity” for all sponsors. This year they aimed at generating a total revenue of 13.5 lakhs, through corporate sponsorships, benefactors such as Ranvir Trehan, food stalls, and the sale of BOSM, i-BOSM, and Junoon T-shirts.
Harshoman mentioned that one of the major changes seen this time around would be the revamping of food stalls. Vendors will be operating from stalls made of plywood. He said that the neatness, organisation, and symmetry will make the stalls more visually appealing. Sponsors will also set up booths in Gym-G, including two tents and a truck by Monster Energy, a Pepsi stall, and a display of Harley-Davidson bikes. The aim is to make Gym-G livelier and more sponsor-friendly.
The department has also managed to convince the Institute to let them host a poker night under the flood lights at Gym-G. Although the logistics have not yet been worked out, there will be no actual money involved.
Harshoman hoped for a successful BOSM with significant participation by the first-year students, as it will be their first fest on campus.
