The BOSM English Press sat down with Preksha Pant, the CoSSAcn of the Department of Sponsorship and Marketing, BOSM for an interview to gain insights about their work for the fest. The department is responsible for securing sponsorships for the fest in the form of cash and kinds as well as setting up the food stalls in collaboration with various food brands. Along with this, the department also sells merchandise such as t-shirts and hoodies during the fest, she explained.
Preparations for this year’s fest began during the summer break, with the department members being assigned various brands to reach out to and get on board as sponsors. Preksha agreed that not having classes suspended during BOSM can make the work quite hectic but acknowledged her department members’ supportive and understanding nature. She further added that preplanning had been done to ensure smooth coordination of the workforce during the fest.
Commenting on the food stalls being set up during BOSM, Preksha remarked that the brands setting up their stalls this time are comparable to Oasis and named a few including Costa Coffee, Wow! Momo, and Domino’s. Preksha also mentioned IndusInd Bank, Plum, and Red Bull as some of the brands they have partnered with this time round. She added that there will be multiple challenges organised by Plum and the winners will be rewarded with gift hampers. Skoda’s car showcase will be a new addition to the list of events during the fest. The department has also partnered with Asus to sponsor the gaming tournament being organised by CRISS Robotics, in turn offering a prize pool of Rs. 20,000.
Coming to challenges she faced while preparing for the fest, Preksha said that she did not face any major problems coordinating with clubs and departments and shared a good rapport with other coordinators and CoSSAcns. She did note that the department had to shift the car showcase from Gym-G to the lawns in front of Vishwakarma and Bhagirath bhawan as the administration had forbidden the entry of vehicles in Gym-G.
Preksha praised her department members for getting on board with better brands this time and credited the improved outreach done by them for the same.
On a parting note, she said that BOSM is ‘not just a sports fest’ and students must not miss out on any event as there are new ones this time around along with a great Prof Show.
