With Oasis just around the corner, the Oasis English Press sat down with Raghav Kashyap, the coordinator of the Department of Professional Events (DoPE), to learn more about their preparations for the fest.

Raghav said they planned to organize multiple events for the fest, such as EDM Nite, Hip-Hop Nite, and a tattoo parlour similar to the one in BOSM.

When asked about their preparations for the fest, Raghav mentioned that they had been working since June, mainly comparing recent performances of artists in other fests, reviewing their newest songs, and judging comedians’ sets. He claimed they had ‘prepared a lineup that was better than last year’s.’

Addressing the fact that the Department of Live Events (DLE) was removed from the Oasis charter last year, Raghav admitted that the department members were disappointed due to it. However, he continued by saying that they planned to ‘put on the best show that Oasis has ever seen,’ to demonstrate their capabilities.

Raghav remarked that the primary challenge they usually encountered was sticking to the timeline. He added that they are nonetheless confident in securing the necessary number of registrations via signings in the mess and the eateries.

Talking about the expectations he had for Oasis, Raghav commented that it was going to be a ‘crazy’ show. He mentioned that they were excited about the fest and that he was positive they would receive great reviews from the audience. He concluded by urging BITSians to get ready for incredible performances.
