Welcome to the first issue of The Fine Print—of the new semester, the new year, and the new decade!
Most of us here at the editorial team are already numerous Doritos packets, Red Bull cans, and ANC Gulab Jamuns past our healthy eating resolutions. And as for the attend all classes pledge, that fell flat at the first Saturday 8AM.
Keeping that in mind, I’ve decided that instead of a resolution, what EPC needs is a guiding theme. For this year, that theme is outreach. We want to present our content to you, the reader, in ways that are more accessible, informative, entertaining, and enjoyable. Concretely, this could take the form of different designs, novel content formats, presence on popular platforms, more frequent articles, or even something as simple as bulleted lists for easier reading. We’ll take things one step at a time, and see how it goes.
The centerpiece of this issue is our interview with Engineers Against Injustice, a group founded by recently graduated BITSians who felt the need to raise their voice against the passage of the CAA and NRC. Whatever be your position on this highly contentious issue—be it supportive, dismissal, angry, neutral, or even just unaware—I strongly implore you to explore both the article and the EAI movement.
