The coordinator of Embryo, Pranay Didwania, took some time out of his busy schedule to meet with the English Press Club to talk about the activities of the club this BOSM. Embryo’s functions include conducting on-campus and online talks of people with various profiles. On-campus, they are mainly involved in inviting the chief guests for the fests and online ones are technical, based on the fields of booming research. Devendra Jhajharia, a javelin thrower and the first Indian to win two gold medals in the Paralympics was the chief guest for BOSM 2017.
The work for BOSM starts from April in the previous semester, where the club compiles a database with speakers and their contacts. The second years then call and pitch, according to the availability of the sportspeople. Usually, active sports players are invited to BOSM and if they are not accessible, the invite goes to coaches, veterans, commentators or sports experts. First years handle logistics after the arrival of the chief guest and are supervised by second years. Since it is Pilani, they face certain constraints so the 10-15 days leading up to BOSM are involved in detailed discussions with managers to plan the itinerary.
When asked about the responsibilities of being coordinator, Pranay said ,’Last year was hectic because I had to obey the third years and supervise the first years. However, this time, if anything goes south, I will be the one solely responsible for it as I am technically, the face of the club.’ However, he is confident that the work done by the club this year will be more organized compared to last year, owing to the fact that there was no one specifically dedicated for BOSM in 2017.
Pranay stated that a highlight of being coordinator is that he gets a chance to  interact with personalities seen on television or newspaper headlines. He is very confident about his team and he maintains a good rapport with his juniors. For him, the confidence and professionalism involved in the process, combined with the reception of the crowd at the inauguration, makes him anticipate BOSM 2018 with a lot of excitement.
