The APOGEE English Press reached out to Keya Shah, coordinator of BITS Embryo, to find out about the club’s role in APOGEE 2025.
Keya informed that Embryo conducted the kernel event, APOGEE Innovation Challenge (AIC), during the fest. She explained that for this event, they invited various companies to give real-life challenges faced by them as problem statements. Thereafter, Embryo publicised these problem statements on the website Unstop.
She elaborated that students from all across India could participate in this online event which lasted for around twenty five days. The solutions submitted by the participants would be evaluated by the companies, and as per the agreements signed, winners would receive goodies, cash prizes, or internship offers.
She mentioned that they had wanted to diversify the challenge and approach different domains of companies, which included fields of tech, finance, and product. She also stated that this was different from previous years where most of the challenges were tech based, and as such, they had to find new companies and create a new database.
Keya informed that they had started reaching out to the companies in February, and were currently in the process of signing MOUs with them. She added that the problem statements would soon be published on Unstop, and the results would be announced tentatively towards the end of April.
She revealed that although they had planned for more events as well, Embryo could not conduct them this year due to budgeting issues.
Keya mentioned that she had a great experience as a coordinator, and learnt a lot of new things. In parting, she encouraged the students to enjoy and have fun during APOGEE.
