The BOSM English Press sat down with Aditya Bhaskar, the Coordinator of the English Language Activities Society (ELAS) for BOSM 2023, to learn more about their work during the fest and their preparation leading up to it.

Aditya shared that ELAS has planned three quizzes for the fest: a general sports quiz, a cricket and football quiz, and a Formula One quiz. The F1 quiz, he mentioned, will be in collaboration with IKE, and held on the day of the F1 screening. He expressed satisfaction with the progress of all three quizzes since they were assisting IKE in setting up the quiz, and additionally, they had a strong team of sports enthusiasts to help, despite him not being one of them.

Aditya explained that the general sports quiz was their flagship quiz and a continuation of their tradition. While they had previously hosted an “Esports quiz”, they decided to return to their more traditional quizzes. He also highlighted that the quiz was set to take place at GymG. Since most BOSM events took place in GymG, it was perfect for encouraging participation.

Addressing challenges, Aditya mentioned their efforts to increase participation in the two quizzes scheduled at NAB, a location somewhat isolated from the main fest areas—SAC and GymG. He also acknowledged logistical challenges but expressed optimism.

Reflecting on his experience as the coordinator, he noted it did not feel much different from when he was the Joint Coordinator (JoCo) in APOGEE during the previous semester. He mentioned that their batch was very active and also said that the juniors were eager to participate, making it a great experience for him.

In conclusion, he extended an invitation to all students to participate in their quizzes, emphasizing the fun and exciting opportunities that they offer. Aditya also encouraged the freshers to go out and explore and said that despite the ongoing classwork during BOSM, fest events were not something they should miss out on.
