The Oasis English Press sat down with Shivangi Pachauri, the coordinator of Fashion Club, for a brief conversation on the club’s preparation for the fest as the 51st edition of Oasis draws near.
Shivangi mentioned that Fashion Club would be organising “Fiesta de Neon”, as they did in the previous edition of Oasis but with a new theme and better decorations. She elaborated by saying that the event would be held at SAC, where radium bracelets and other accessories would be provided by the club, along with acrylic face paints. Shivangi anticipated a good turnout given the uniqueness of the event.
Shivangi remarked that the club was under considerable time constraints given that BOSM and the mid-semester examinations had just concluded and that they had less time to prepare for the event as compared to last year. She added that all the members of the club had various commitments across the campus, and they were struggling a bit due to conflicting schedules. Shivangi added that despite this, they were confident that with efficient collaboration, they would be able to conduct a better event this year.
When asked about what more could be done to popularise Fashion Club on the campus, Shivangi said they look forward to organising a fashion show in which anyone with interest could showcase their designs and even volunteer as a model. She said that they wanted to organise something similar for this edition of Oasis, but planning, ideation, and execution of events like these takes time, and given the time constraint, it would not have been feasible to do so.
Shivangi encouraged BITSians who were not part of the Fashion Club to bring in new ideas, and if the idea was practical, they would definitely implement it.
On a parting note, Shivangi encouraged everyone to come to the event along with their friends and enjoy.
